Ph.D in Design, Marzia Mortati is Associate Professor at Politecnico di Milano, Department of Design, where she teaches Service Design, Innovation, and their connection with Artificial Intelligence and the public sector. She is Co-Director of the Sustainable Transitions through Democratic Design Doctoral Network.
Marzia is also one of the Executive Directors of the European Academy of Design, a network of 3000+ academics and researchers in 5 continents and 35 countries, and Deputy Director of the International Master in AI for Public Services. She is one of the main promoters of the research network PoGoSig – Design for Policy and Governance Special Interest Group part of the renowned Design Research Society. She has also developed substantial experience in European research, having acted as a researcher and project manager. She teaches Design Innovation, Strategic and Service design, mainly working with international and multicultural groups since 2007, and has been visiting professor in several international schools (Brazil, Mexico, Portugal, France, Sweden, UK). She has authored articles in international scientific journals (i.e., Design Issues, Technovation, Design Management Review, The Design Journal, Policy Science) and conferences since 2008.
