Francesco Mureddu is a distinguished senior executive, renowned for his expertise in designing, implementing, and evaluating complex, large-scale initiatives in digital innovation and transformation. He possesses extensive experience in drafting R&I proposals and orchestrating project consortia, demonstrating an exceptional track record in fundraising. His areas of work and expertise encompass the transformative impact of disruptive digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, open data, augmented/virtual reality, and edge computing on policy making and the provision of public services, with the aim to enhance efficiency and responsiveness of public administration, as well as to address societal challenges like climate change. Francesco serves as a Senior Director at the Belgian think tank The Lisbon Council, where he leads a team of researchers and project managers with joint responsibility for the Lisbon Council’s growing portfolio of EU funded projects and is responsible for quality control, growth and compliance in this area. Specifically, he oversees the participation in 22 projects, successfully managing about 2.5M EUR budget per year. Since 2017 he has raised over 10MEuros through over 30 successful bids and proposals thus elevating the Lisbon Council’s standing on the global stage. He holds a MA in Economics from the Catholic University of Louvain and a PhD in Economics from the University of Cagliari, and has a professional-level knowledge of English, Spanish and Italian.
